My award goes to the Cayman.

IMO no other car on the road looks just as proportioned in terms of the way it look's or as 'comfortable' on the road.

If I had the cash I'd have one as a daily driver but sadly I don't think I will ever have that!

Strange. To me the proportions of the Cayman are all wrong.

To be honest I can't think of a mainstream modern car that doesn't have something slightly... unnatural looking about its design.

More than any other wedge I've seen recently.

I don't like the Cayman either, being a Boxster coupe which looks the same forwards as backwards. wink
The Passat CC looks good and is the only recent car I've thought actually looked good.

Third gen' RX7... such a good looking car. I was only 11 in '92 when the FD came out. I can't get my head around how fresh it looks nearly twenty years later.

... and not a piston in sight!

Beaten to it. Definitely in the top 3 best looking cars to come out of Japan.

Phwoar biggrin

BUT

Whenever I've seen one on the road I don't think they look as if they belong there whereas to me, the Cayman looks just right.

Obviously not that perfect as the one pictured has a body-kit of some description!

And I hate to agree with Clarkson, but later models of the Maserati Quattroporte just look... so... cloud9

I agree, so much stuff is overstyled (e.g. the BMW 'flame language' or whatever it's called) and too tall.

To me a 964 911RS looks a lot more 'right' than a Cayman, which with 19 inch wheels in particular, look strange.

Agreed. Giugiaro's original Esprit shape was so "right" that it's timeless.

See also Corvette C3 (coke bottle), Jensen Interceptor, Porsche 911, Lotus Elan/Mazda MX5 mk1 (clearly related), Alfa 8C, Ferrari 308/328.

Not sure I see the point of this thread as everyone will simply vote for whatever car the lust after the most of think is the most beautiful. It's just so subjective.

I mean the cayman looks nice enough but I think there are numerous cars around that look just as "nice enough" like the 370z, z4mc, r8 etc.

Anyway the Murci will never look as good as this:

If I really had to name a modern car I felt was perfectly proportioned I guess it would be this:

I like simpler styling so for me, the original Countach is much better than that Diablo and the standard DB9 or V8 Vantage is better than the DBS.

But you're right, this thread will do little but reaffirm people's own opinions.

I don't think I explained myself very well in the OP frown

I was trying to get the point across that whilst I don't think it is the prettiest or the most stylish it has a certain 'rightness' about it.

DBS doesn't look right to me. Too many splitters, skirts etc going on. Makes it look too deep, if you know what I mean

ETA: Rawwr, is that a 456?
