Air-con smells like ****
Discussion
I think it's bacteria in the air conditioning system that causes the smell.
Try one of these. I was getting frequent sore throats that I thought was due to me using the AC. Since using the cleaner all seems well.
After the treatment, leave your car doors open for as long as possible and drive with the windows open. It's very potent!

I had this with my bedroom AC unit this summer when I first switched on. I cured it with dettol disinfectant spray. I just sprayed it at the inlets when it was running in short bursts, took a few treatments but is now cured for less than £2!
a/c in your bedroom? Bloody show-off!

You'll get sore throats from running the a/c for long periods at low temperature. It will be dehumidifying the air and you will either need to use it at comfort cooling 21 is deg c rather than a fridge and make sure you drink to replenish what you are loosing.
Bacterial growth is caused from dust and skin getting caught in the cooling radiator( evaporator) and rots with the condensation water which is in the unit ( remember the water puddle under your car, thats it draining out) There are plenty or bacterial sprays available, but you must make sure you clean the cooling rad and not just blow it into the vents, otherwise it will temporarily clear the smell for a short time and the bacteria will continue to thrive and stink like smelly socks............
