Thinking of selling my S2000 and getting something a bit more 'normal', comfortable, and a bit cheaper.

Budget £5,000 - £7,500.

I want something comfortable, REASONABLE on fuel, not something so slow it'll drive me around the bend, and something reasonably respectable.

I'm currently considering a 5 series 03 BMW, - comfortable, cruiser, - put in a decent stereo (love my music) might keep me happy.

Could go for a diesel, - but how noisey are they??

Or petrol would be much quieter, - maybe a 525 would offer reasonable performance and decent mpg?

Only thing is the bill is something went wrong? Anything BMW is going to be expensive, right...?

Any other suggestions??

Considering also a mondeo, ST TDCI 2.2, although again, not sure i could do with the noise..? How bad is it (never had a diesel before, but they sound like a good performance/mpg option.

cheers

I've had a couple of Mondeo ST TDCI's as comapny cars, the only problems i found is that the engine weighs alot and you can really feel it when pushing on and on that note i found the brakes were not good enough. This was the previous generation Mondeo mind you but other than that it had a hell of alot of room, well built and i got to like it.

Thanks for your input, just reading a review on them, seems a car you buy with your head not your heart, they say.

Any feedback on an 02/03 5 series?
