Hello,I have a TVR T350 which has a glass rear tailgate with no frame. The glass is a bit uneven around the edges, nothing serious, but could do with a bit of reshaping were the corner rads meet the straights.I have asked around and a few people have told me it is not possible to grind/sand//polish toughened glass.Does anyone know of any other way it could possibly be done? Thanks in advance for any info.Regards,Steve.

you can shave a few mm off toughened glass, but i doubt it would look very good, and working on a corner would more than likely break it.

live with it or buy a new piece.

You can NOT alter toughened glass....try, and it will shatter.
Laminated glass can be cut, and or sanded as you please.

It was laminated then, not toughened.

Ok.
Op, you go ahead and cut/sand/trim your toughened glass rear window.........just make sure your wife is at hand with a dustpan and brush.

Smithers, out of interest, how much did you manage to 'sand' and how did you do it?

It was no more than 2mm, and it was on a 17mm worktop where the numpties had specced the wrong tap hole, so larger tap hole required. very slow moving drill with a small grinding bit and lots of lubricant. The expectancy was it was going to break, so nothing to lose.

Like I said, toughened glass 'can' be altered a very small amount, but not without risk.
