When are Arval/All Star fuel cards going to be accepted at "pay at the pump" pumps? One guy said they were going to, but anyone know when?

I like not having to queue up with people who have done the weeks shopping as well.

Not sure how they will do it, as the cards have the reg number on etc-any ideas?

It could happen but i think it causes security problems when confirming the number plate. If you have a card with the plate on it it cannot be confirmed that you are filling up the correct vehicle.

I have a Shell card, and what with my van making frequent trips to the dealer I have had a couple of courtesy vans. The cashier usually asks why the reg on the card is different to the vehicle I'm fuelling but they have never refused to accept it. Would make life easier if you could use pay at pump though.

When I used to have a fuel card a few years ago (I think it was a BP one), the pay@pump would just ask me to type in the reg and mileage, there was a keyboard hidden under a flap on the tesco pumps for doing this. Do they not do that any more ?

I also recall that where I had to go to the till they asked for the reg and mileage and I just told them to leave it blank. maybe thats not allowed any more .

when i worked at tesco pumps you were meant to put in the registration as the cards were usually linked to 1 car - the mileage bit was always optional on every card.

My fuel card is for any car or driver I just give over the reg. The fuel is mostly only £5 or £20 splash's.

Because the cashier always checks rather than just aksing what your reg number is!
