Another race at Brands Hatch, another horrific accident

It always shocks me that there are people that would rather try to kill you than let you overtake. Shades of Schumi at today's Hungary race.
I disagree If the driver hadn't ried to prevent the guy from passing then he wouldn't be a racing driver. IN this incident the 'leading' driver didn't move more than once to dry and defend his place and the driver hehind had every oportunity to not go for the gap. It's all racing.Gald the driver is okay. Testament to the safety of modern racing cars.

The lead drivers in both collisions are brothers! Maxime and Julien Jousse.Am I the only one who thinks there just plainly and simply wasnt a gap there? Had the lead car continued left off the RH bend apex, he would have been fine, but it didnt, he reached a point and came back to cover the inside. At no point was there room alongside him for another car and the camera car just went for a "gap" anyway.
You cant lunge for a gap you expect to be there. Especailly in open wheelers.
Certainly the onboard-car loooks to have more speed, bit of frustration perhaps? Had he been there for a lap or two?

If the lead car moves over before the other guy arrives, then fine. But if he's already overlapping it's bloody dangerous and, as happened with Schumacher, he should be punished.

Motor racing is, by necessity, a non-contact sport, and at least part of the appeal is the balletic way in which truly great drivers dice with each other without crashing into each other's cars or the tyre walls.
'Allow' moves like Schumacher's and everything turns into a banger-race.

), it sounds from the commentary like the driver ahead was trying to move over to let the following driver through.
