Limit on the width of a road vehicle?

[Tsippy]

Hi folks,

Do you know if there is a legal limit on how wide a road vehicle can be ? I'm thinking of a project that will be 84" wide on completion and wanted to know if it would be road legal before commencing

Merci!

Goods vehicles have a maximum width of 2550mm, about 100 inches in old money.

You'll find some info at the bottom of this page.

Thanks, I just read that that the Hummer H1 is 86" and road legal so I guess I'd be ok

Link is useful too so thanks again
