Pretty much what it says on the tin.

Hoping an overnight journey will take us to Scotland.

Based in London, but happy to drive somewhere reasonable to catch the Ferry.

Basically NOPE

Get it transported to inverness

Fly up to meet it at the airport and then drive down through scotland and then home

You might be able to strap it to a passing Trident sub, if you're quick...

Why on earth do you need a ferry to Scotland? Just enjoy the drive up, its not that far.

Are you starting in London?

I don't think you can get your car to Scotland....but if another destination would do you could get to Cornwall with your car on the train IIRC. Sleeper cabin + car to Cornwall - drive back? Or simply come back on the train after a long weekend there...

...FLY DRIVE. Fly up. RENT a car. You can sometimes get fun things if you try hard enough...

What exactly are you trying to do? Transport a car to Scotland ready for your holiday? If so, hire someone to drive it there? Or it the issue something else?

Ferries travel at between 12 and 25 knots on average. You haven't really thought this out have you?

I have thought it out just fine. There are people to receive it before I get there. The only consideration for me is for it get there before I do. A ferry is simply one of a couple of options I am exploring.

Probably best if you stick to answering the question in future as opposed to devoting yourself to my thought processes. Thanks for your concern though.

You have had a couple of threads today on this subject Mr Advocatus. Did that Iguana chap not come back with a decent quote?

I was trying to think of any manufacturing companies in Scotland who might have a contract with a firm like On:Time. They might be more contract than one off though but you never know you might get a space on a half full truck.

You chaps who think this guy is a daft troll, have a little envious squint at advocatus' Garage. A fine array of vehicles in there.
