Is it possible to check old MOTs?

I am looking at a car and there is a mileage discrepancy. The car is showing 46000 miles and the last service stamp shows 48000 miles, which was about 12 months ago.
The new style MOTs have the mileage on, and I was wondering if there was a way of checking these online?

You have reason to believe the car was clocked and you are STILL looking at it?

Not clocked. From what I know, the service dealer entered the wrong mileage at the last service. Only a couple of thousand out.

Great, probably true and you may be right to believe that. But will people buy that when you come to sell?
