Correct hose bore...

Just after a bit of advice - I'm fitting an adaptor in my top hose. The internal pipe diameter is 30.5mm, and the external diameter of the rad/stat housing fittings are 32mm.
So, I need to choose an adaptor - 30 mm or 34 mm better? 30 might be a bit too small, 34 too big and damage the hose... Does it really matter that much anyway!? It will obviously have jubilee clips on it.
