Got a bit of a slide on in the wet this morning applying the throttle out of a bend and a small amount of correction needed.

Made me think how often other with more powerful cars need a Dab of Oppo?

Never because my car is fitted with ESP and I'm not daft enough to turn off a system that makes my car safer for myself and other road users whilst on the public road.

Wait for it, wait for it...!biggrin

You've forgotten the option:

Rarely, but always achieves a good drift once a week with a Tesco shopping trolly.

Why exactly, will it be funny? It's a serious discussion.

Got nothing to contribute? ps off.

Occasionally get a bit of lit off oversteer coupled with going into a roundabout a bit too quick on my winter tyres, other than that I rarely ever get that close to the limit on public roads.

Not a lot any more as my only road car is a company Volvo V50 diesel, ( however have experienced lift off oversteer which was amusing but probably not company policy! ). In the past I've enjoyed sideways fun in my previous two TVR's + S1 Elise. I have tom say that any sideways fun has either been enjoyable brief gentle sideways moments at speed or lairier stuff out of junctions from standstill. I have never been hugely sideways in big powerslide at speed on the public road. When ever I've come close I've crapped myself, backed off and managed to correct the ensuing tank slapper. I'm now hillclimbing a single seater with huge power to weight ratio and it's still hard to keep commited in a slide. To keep your foot in takes some practice and needs a good understanding of the cars limits/conditions if you're to get it right time after time. I'm starting to get more confident on track but would need to take a TVR or similar onto an airfield to practice before being confident enough to try it on the road regularly. Even then I think you'd be hard pushed to find roads with sufficient sight lines to be sure you'd not be putting anyone other than yourself at risk!

Rarely, when I can see the tarmac on which I will be sliding, and usually at a nice low speed.

Seeing as its generally been quite dry round these parts recently I voted rarely but intentionally, hoping for a bit more when it gets damp. Practice makes perfect and all that...

only a couple of times intentionally at slow speed, once unintentionally on a wet roundabout. Don't count the attempt to get to work a few months back in the snow!

Define 'rarely' and 'often'....

If I only do my usual two journeys a day of 30 commuter miles, then not very often. But if I'm out early morning or late at night, on the series of empty dual carriageways and roundabouts close to home and its moist then it could be "more often...and mostly intentional". So many variables on this one.

If its snowing, then....biggrin
