Does anyone know of any 4 wheel drive sports apart from an Audi TT Quattro? In a similar price range to the TT as well i.e. no Lambos.

There's the AMS Murtaya.

I guess you could argue that things like Imprezzas are as much "sports cars" as the TT. There's also the Alfa Brera V6.

A TT is a sports car now is it? I don't think any car with a Haldex drivetrain can be considered a 'sports car' as it's essentially FWD.

Assuming he meant new prices, rather more expensive than a TT, too.

Alas, not any more there isn't. Twas an epic car though.

Plenty of expensive stuff that contravenes the price criteria, struggling to think of any for TT money though.

What happened? I thought things were going pretty well at AMS?

To be honest, a TT is hardly a sports car, so if you want to equal or better the drive of a TT I'd look at an Impreza, Golf R32 or another 4WD hatch. I've not actually driven those suggestions, but from what I've read in magazines that I trust (and compared my experiences with their reviews for countless other cars), I don't they'd be far off the driving experience of the TT. I expect the Impreza's 4WD system may even deliver a sporty drive, not being FWD most of the time (as I'm led to believe it is - see Hornetrider's post above).

Have a wander into the Murtaya thread - most have spent well in excess of what a TT costs.

That is configured differently to every single other VAG application. You know what I mean - ie rear wheels only engaged when fronts lose traction.

wink

Yeah, know what you're saying just couldn't resist that one.

My guess is that so few AWD 'sports' cars exist because Scoobys/Evos do and would out perform most new things that came into the market place.

A Golf R32 is a TT in a fat womans dress. Same drivetrain.

I don't know exactly. I believe an investor pulled out at the last minute or something on the previous incarnation. It was a real shame because AMS had a fantastic team that put a huge amount of work into it.

Glad to see its been bought up and I trust this won't be the last we see of Neil and co either.
