Digital dashboards...

Im doing a kit/renovation at the mo, im thinking of fitting some sort of digital dash in it, like a 2x 7" lcd screens to display dials etc, now ive seen it done, but cant track down the software.. i can deal with the computer / screen end, but i need more info on the software and sensors etc...

I think there's a program named DashXL or something similar that alloys you to create your own dials, which might work, but I think it requires it to be run on an in car computer with an OBD-II connection. I'm sure I've also seen ready made digital dash kits made with kit cars/projects in mind, quick google search should turn sometihng up.

Thats a purpose built race dash, I think the OP was more after something abit more custom.
