Some really great roads here in Norway, really let down by the speed limits! Not only are the limits low, but everyone insists on driving 5kmph below them. It has to be said when it comes to snail races the Norwegians would be Olympic champions.

Limits are low, but the place is so remote that outside the towns and cities there is almost zero enforcement...the tarmac is also very good quality - I found it to be miles and miles of grade-A hooning roads....

And stelvio is basically rubbish - too many buses/tourists and simply not that good a road...

...the grossglockner-hochalpenstrasse on the other hand, now THAT is a good road!

Once you get a free bit of road it is fantastic sweeping through the mountains. The sheep wandering across the road can cause a few hairy moments though.

Firstly those roads look fantastic, but as the above poster said it all depends on traffic.

I was very lucky on the Stelvio. One side of the mountain pass had been shut, essentially making it the worlds best culdesac. From top to bottom didn't get stuck behind a single car and only passed 3 coming down the other way. Mte went up first and radioed down that it was clear from top to bottom and then hooned it up. Best road I've ever driven by some way.
