Just read this in today's paper:

Far better news than the usual doom-and-gloom about electric milkfloat-cars. If there is to be a truly effective green motoring solution it'll be something like this - that works with what we've already got.

That is quite fascinating.
It'll be a fair few years down the line though, and I imagine by that point the Al Gore brigade will have been thrown into a pit and therefore we won't have the technology paid for to undertake the research for it (though of course I wonder if the US Military might be rather interested).
Could certainly increase fuel economy by a huge way........ I'd have thought the BBC would be wetting themselves about this - no wait, of course it would be an issue in terms of taxation, so I suspect the Govt will not want it either..........
