Lotus reveal bonkers Exos T125 almost-F1 track car...

So after telling everyone that they're abandoning lightweight philosophies and heading upmarket, they go and release a €1m F1 car for the track.

Gawd bless 'em! This will be immense...






Apparently it'll have a 3.5 litre Cosworth V8 with 650bhp, and will weigh 650kg.

I thought it'd be lighter than that to be honest, but it still has 1000bhp/tonne!

Oh, and it'll have a 'push-to-pass' button which raises the redline by 500rpm. Which is nice.

It comes with access to the 'Exos Club' which i think is much like the Ferrari package you get with the 599XX and FXX.

So, it's a way for Lotus F1 to get some free testing outside of the alloted F1 testing time then - very clever!

Yes, i think that's the point. It's an F1 car you can buy, and drive around a track.

Yup, and allegedly when you buy it you get 5 track days thrown in where Mika Hakkinen and Jarno Trulli teach you how to drive it...

Its alot of money... but if i had it spare i couldn't think of many better ways to spend it.

The Unique selling point is the club around it, organising ex and current f1 drivers to teach you how to drive it, aswell as apparently tailoring the whole experience around the select group of customers. The engine and components are also designed to have alot more lifespan than F1 cars so rebuilds are needed much less regularly.
