Can anyone give me some insurance advice please,

As a new boy I hope it is ok to ask questions like this on this forum. Can I please presume on the combined expertise of Forum members for some advice. My wife and I each have a car and I want to buy a third car (Chimaera) as a weekend toy. The problem is insurance. We are each named drivers on the others policy and both tend to use both cars about equally. .
I have not had an accident for 15 years but my wife has had 3 accidents in the last 6 years in my car. (She has not had any accidents in hers).
So I have had 3 claims on my insurance. She has had no claims on hers so has a full No Claims Discount.
When I enquired about insurance for the TVR the premium was astronomical because of the claims on my policy.
We thought about registering the TVR in my wife’s name but when she enquired they asked whether the named driver (me) had made any insurance claims and when she told them – the premium quoted was again extremely high.
Can anyone tell me how I can get a reasonable insurance quote based on my clean driving record. Any suggestions will be very gratefully received.

try msm - they class it as kit car and will give you a limited mileage policy. That's who i'm with and found them very good - you speak to the same person from start to finish.

The question re claims is

'Have you had any claims or accidents in the last 3/5 years?'

So even if your wife hasn't had any claims, she has had accidents and vice versa for you (no accidents, three claims).

So premiums will be high.

How about insuring the TVR in the summer, and take the other car off the road?

Thanks, I did consider that but with dogs & Kids (and I dont think my wife would manage the Chim) I think it has to be a toy for summer Sundays only. I will try Admiral though, and I appreciate the advice.
