Anyone know much about these tyres? How do they fair?

I used to run some Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tyres and loved them. Wouldn't mind something simliar (but a lot cheaper) to put on my smart Roadster. These seem well priced and look nice too. Would be keen to here any experience of them.

I've used the AD07 which was its predecessor and it was a great tyre.

Amazing dry grip, good wet grip, stiff sidewall.

The AD08 is ostensibly the same but they have apparently improved wet grip.

They do not last long though. My ~300hp MR2 went through a rear pair of AD07 in 6000 miles.

Quite simply epic tyres, not much else to be said really.

Grip, progressive, quiet, stiff, pointy. Brilliant.

Suppose to be very good / I am running AD07's are they are stunning on the Elise both on the road/track and wet/dry. They last well on the Elise too, 25K on fronts and about 10K on average on rears inc some track days - which is dam impressive if you ask my / plus no probs with grip!

Think the AD08 compound is simlier to A048 semi slicks so there probably a bit more grippy than AD07's but maybe more wear...

What car are you fitting them to?

If you mean the physical grip on the tarmac when damp, then I found them good, probably still better than most normal tyres.

Were they differ is in deeper water (standing water or a lot more water run off in heavy rain). They don't have the ability to shift the water, so aquaplaning is far more of an issue. If you drive to the conditions though and be sensible I can't see it being an issue. I used the Pilot Sport Cups on my V8 TR7 as a daily driver doing 60 miles a day + in all conditions on a mix of country back roads and fast A roads.
