Tow Car Question

I am in the process of getting the right cheap track car at the moment (it will be 4 cylinders and a max of 1,000kg and may or may not have a roof)

I currently have a modified S3 which, as you can imagine, is not the best tow car in the world. I’m looking at getting a cheapish car to tow my impending purchase with. I’ll be keeping the S3 for weekend non-track duties.

Price is a non-issue as, well, I’m not in the UK.

Options are
1) 92-95 Saab 9000 2.3
2) Late 80s/early 90s BMW e34 530i/535i
3) Early 90s Audi 90
4) Some form of domestic, straight 6 Holden Commodore style wagon. Basically, slightly larger RWD vauxhall Omega with a 3.8 6 cylinder engine.

Alternatively, I flog the S3 and get a e46 330i sedan with a tow bar. I think they have the capability of towing an up to 1600kg braked trailer.

I’m leaning towards one of the RWD options at the moment – but a saab 9000 hatch is dirt cheap and practical.

I'd have thought the Holden would have the best torque for towing, or a diesel Hilux surf or Similar
