New BMW 6 Series Hunted Down On The Autobahn

Bloggers at M5BOARD have got lucky with the video camera, filming a great close-up action movie of the next generation BMW 6 Series at high speed.

The thrill of the chase is almost palpable in a 10 minute video that sees our heroes making every effort to capture details of what looks like both a new M6 or sports-spec model, and standard versions of the new cars.

The guys seem to have fallen-in with the prototype convoy by accident in Germany, or perhaps they benefited from a tip-off. Either way, there’s a great explanatory voice-over from the in-car camera man, which handily saves us the job of pointing out the details…

Awesome footage, notice the 3 cars all had different lights and grills? Might be just the swirly paint jobs to distract me but one definitely had different lights.

On another note, I wish our M roads had no speed limits

I dont think manafaturers have any intention of keeping them secret, thse photos appearing in motoring magazines and online keep the anticipation up. Make current 6 owners who may be looking at the Mercedes E coupe hold off.

Nice inconspicuous paint job!

Notice the guys mention travelling at up to 250kph, which is pretty close to the 155mph BMW limits the top speed of its cars to.

In Europe, people use English as an universal language, so maybe the guys chasing were different nationalities.

If they were supposed to be secret they wouldnt send 3 of them dressed as Zebras down the Autobahn at over 100mph

I guess you dont know that area, I drive on that road at least every second month, and at night there is a huge risk of animals as there is very close to a national park... I did once drive there hitting 270km/h on my Audi and never again, the asfalt is not that good, the turns are not made for speeds above 200km/h and I always did spot animals at night...

Where, please, did they loose the excitement, drama or at least some elegance for such a car?
Disappointing, IMO.

It could quite easily look similar to this, and this is a great looking car.
