Mixing oils

Hi.

I'm planning a run out with the VX220 tomorrow, it's the 2.2 so it's a vecra engine.

Problem is, I need an oil top up, beinga dick I have left my previous service invoice in the office and I cannot be sure of the oil used.

I'm fairly confident, 5W30 part synthetic was used, but, if I’m wrong and I top up, shouldn’t be much, I’m well above the minimum, will it all end in tears?

You'll be fine.

All commonly-available motor oils are fully miscible (i.e. can be mixed). The only exception relates to castor-based racing oils which you are unlikely to find in Halfrauds.

Anything is better than an empty sump.

You will be fine, but I'd watch out with some of the vauxhalls. A lot of guides suggest would probably suggest using a fully synthetic 5w40, but it's only an old ecotec engine in the VX220 IIRC?
