Where to rent an MPV for 4/5 days?

Hi all,

Six of us travelling down to the Ryder Cup at the end of September and need something that will carry us and our luggage - hence looking at MPV/Mini van options.

Got a quote from the usual places. Does anyone know of special companies that deal just with this area??

Enterprise / Hertz etc all hire out MPVs

Try and get a 9 seater like a merc Traveliner/VW shuttle. Otherwise you'll have very little luggage space. They're usually not much more expensive but alot more practical.

If you speak to Avis, and sign up for ABS(Avis Business Solutions), which is free, and the only stipulation being that you say that you will use it at some point for business...you may get a better rate than their standard price. Does depend on a few factors, but worth a shot!

Enterprise - book in advance (clearly, but I always forget and end up with something odd) and order what you want. They will get in anything that you need. Alternatively, Hertz is good if you are gold card member or can get the advantage points things. I understand that Enterprise can be negotiated with, well at least that I what I have been told at least.

Our local lot often ring us trying to find vehicles they have over booked. We later get people ringing up complaining that Enterprise have cancelled their booking as they haven't got a vehicle and asking if we can help.
