What cool stuff can I do in Scotland?

Doing plenty of driving, so ticking that box, but looking for what boxes to tick when we're at a standstill.

Great glen waterpark: jet ski, bumper rides etc
fort william: ben nevis
Glen coe: always amazing to look around the visitors centre
Loch ness:Loch ness museum or a boat trip
Fort william again: mallage steam line amazing views
Tomermory: see the cbbc village ballamory lol and go wisky tasting
Isle of egg: boat trip to the isle amazing is be on a virtually uninhabited island
Edin: royal britania (surprizingly entertaining)

go canyoning best fun ever (i went in febuary in the snow and felt like I was going to die of the cold but will be better now) also you can haggle on price i got to go for £25 quid instead of £40. They also do rafting

A few thoughts...

Museum of flight, East Fortune, just east of Edinburgh, Concorde & a Vulcan.
Knockhill is always worth a visit at the weekends.
I`m sure there is a seaplane trip service at Cameron house hotel, loch Lomand & helicopter flights around the central belt too.

Near(ish) the border - Caerlaverock Castle, Dumfries and Galloway coast (and roads), Portpatrick.

Edinburgh - loads to do (look it up), Witchery tour at night, restaurants in Leith, Edinburgh Castle, Tantallon Castle (I like castles!), traditional pubs on Rose Street, nice bars on George Street, Harvey Nicks / Jenners for swmbo.
South Queensferry to see an engineering marvel.

Glasgow, Very different to Edinburgh. Shopping, bars, nitelife, loads of good restaurants. Some great museums.

Coatbridge - Buckfast capital of the UK (he he)

Stirling Castle.

Fife Coastal route from Culross to St Andrews (not great roads, but scenic little ports and great fish and chips (no deep fried Mars Bars).

Callendar - Aberfoyle road is a great drive (go early as its busy at the moment). Stop at Loch Katrine and take a boat trip or cycle and come back on the boat (book!).

A87 - stop at Eillan Donnan castle (Highlander), head on to Skye and maybe a trip to Plockton on the way back.

Thanks to all for the responses. Some interesting stuff in there. For the most part, we're going to be away from the major cities driving through the sticks, trying to find the best roads.

To focus things a bit... any car related stuff on top of the suggestions above?

You've still got at least an hours more driving on great roads north of Suilven, then come back south on other equally great roads.


Other options;
Whale watching from various places on the west coast.
Dolphin/Porpoise watching from Inverness.
'Nessie' hunting on Loch Ness.
Distillery tours round most distilleries, with tasting included.
Ice-climbing on the biggest indoor ice-wall in the world at Kinlochleven near fort William.
Climb Ben Nevis, tallest mountain in Britain from Fort William.

Motoring;
Check Knockhill in Fife for any races that might be on.
Hill climbs and sprints at various places round the country.
Transport museums in various towns/cities.
Plenty great roads!
