Insurance for Learner Drivers

I know it's been discussed before but it is a movable feast.

What are the best companies to invetsigate for a learner driver ? Our current insurers not interested.

Depends on your age...

My O/H managed to get me on her insurance as a learner driver for under £500 and she was with Shelias wheels, I.e. manhaters.com

As a learner start off with Marmalade Provisional Driver Insurance, you can get a quote on the A Plan web site.
I managed to get my 17 year old son insured on the RX-8. The policy was only valid while he was an accompanied provisional learner driver. You pay monthly so only pay for the time it’s needed. He passed a few weeks ago, doesn’t have a car of his own yet, so hasn’t driven since.

That makes a huge amount of sense because going with 1 company for provisional and once passed can cost a lot of money. Some companies will be reasonable for learners and then very expensive once you've passed.

All will be more expensive when you've passed but by how much.

You need quotes for both provisional and full license holder.

For some reason, as soon as the L plates went on, he wanted me to meet him from school.

One daughter a few years ago got the cheapest quote from Tesco.

Last year, the youngest got the cheapest quote from Churchill.

Both paid about £800 tpft on a Ford Ka with myself and wife as named drivers.
