Another what car thread - very un-PH requirements

My new car is on order (will get it mid-Nov) and I need something to tide me over between now and November. My criteria are simple:

Reliability (the more mechanically/electronically simple the better). Basically I don't want to spend any money on repairs for the few months that I'll be owning it.

I don't care about the badge, image, performance, or petrol v. diesel.

If possible, I'd like to be able to sell it on reasonably easily after the 3 months of ownership.

I'll be commuting about 120 miles per week, so will own it for a total of 1500 miles. About 1000 miles of this would be on the motorway.

What is my best recourse? eBay? car auctions? classifieds?

Budget is £300-400 max, though ideally, towards the £300 side would be better.

Ebay - look for typical unloved type white good lemons of the Jap variety


Nissan Almera's,
Toyota Corolla, Avensis, Camry

Avoid: French, Italian, German stuff
