Miserable timing - DMF failure?

Parked my 02 Focus TDCI @ work this morning, all fine

Starting it to return home it was knocking loudly and vibration through the clutch pedal, disappearing once the clutch was let out.

Restarted it once I got home and it was quiet once more?? it's not done this before.

So anyway, to the point can I drive it in this state till I can get it repaired? I was envisaging a ~4 hour 150 mile round trip.

If not it'll mean taking the bike all loaded up with stuff and leaving it unattended for 2-3 days which is not a particularly appealing option.

It's also possible that it's an injector playing up and causing the vibration. Take some of the load out by dipping the clutch and you lose the vibrations. Either way, so long as you have breakdown cover then go for it.

I think a Focus of that year will have a conventional flywheel.
