Where to park at Gatwick airport for a week

I tried that at Gatwick with another hotel that begins with H (not Hilton). Car was damaged in their car park, which they claimed was not their responsibility despite them having moved the car. "Shuttle bus" to airport cost more for 4 people than a taxi did (only found that out when getting a taxi back from the airport).Conversely I did the same with Marriott at Gatwick and all was well.
I've just done this, booked a night at the Premier Inn and a fortnight parking for £130 (family room & free breakfast). When we arrived they said that they didn't have space for our car but had arranged for us to use another off site car park. It was half a mile away and they gave us a map of how to find it (Summer Special parking or something like that). Left the car in a row, took keys inside and that was it. FREE shuttle bus to the terminal, which again saved us some money, as the bus from the Premier Inn would have cost a couple of quid each. Buses every 20 minutes on our return. Excellent service (the car was filthy on our return though!)

That's what I usually do. I've only done 4 or 5 days max (50ish quid) but it's much cheaper than you would think, definitely worth investigating the priceIf you book ahead, the short-term car-park is reasonable....

leave the car at home and go on the train, the platform is directly under the airport & a lift takes you to departures. The Virgin Gatwick Is expensive although direct; get a local train from Victoria or London Bridge, only 1 or 2 stops & a comfortable 35 min journey. All airport car parking is unnecessarily over expensive.
I used Cophall Farm Parking a couple of weeks ago. It cost £40 for 6 days which I thought was reasonable.
Its located about 10 mins away from the airport but shuttle buses run whenever you call for collection.
Security was pretty high, cctv cameras checking no. plate on entry etc. Got the car back in the same condition I left it so I was happy
