Name this car

Help.

There is a car local to me that I have spotted a couple of times and it is rather cool, in my opinion, yet I have no idea what it is.

It runs on an OLD F plate if I remember correctly. Its quite low to the ground, 2 door coupe, similar to a Mitsubishi Starion only slightly more curvy over the top of its profile. Pretty sure its a Honda but the badge is pre-"H" in the centre. I think it says Honda to the left, and the model name symmetrically to the right.

I know it isn't much to go on, but both times I have seen it, I have been too busy being amused/impressed by it to check for the important things.

None of the details above are necessarily 100% correct. Sorry to be so vague.

On an F-, it's possibly an old Integra, but they're not exactly curvy at that age. The other ones that spring to mind are a Honda CRX or a Mazda RX7.

Starion equivalent was the Prelude - the 88 one was a rather straight edged affair. This one sounds like it though

It has big triangular rear lights.

Unlikely, IMHO.

In 1968 Honda were making the S800 coupe and roadster, and Mitsubishi hadn't even made these shores, let alone thought of a bloody-stupid name like "Starion".

I'll wager a virtual pint it's the Integra above.

True, but for the Jap market they were making other cars by the start of the early '70s, and as the OP stated, not all of the detail is 100% correct... But surely you can't confuse 1968 with 1988, can you???? can you???? We need the OP back to clarify!

No, I did not mistake 1968 for 1988!!! I thought it was an OLD F plate, but now learning that that is a 60s reg, it most likely isn't this. What I can say is that it is definately on an old prefix plate so pre 80 or so??

The closest thing I can think to it is an AE86



Still think it is a Honda, but not sure. Ho hum, will have to keep my eyes peeled.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you saw an 80s Honda Accord hatchback. Looks a LOT like an 86.
