Real price is £2000

Sorry it this has been done before, but does anyone else get fed up of people advertising their car at £999 and saying in the ad that the "real price" is much higher?

It has to be said its their own fault if people (idiots) phone up expecting it to be £900.
I've had it the other way round where the price in my advert was £6,000, but the online advert was printed with a sale price of just £265.
Just have a guess at the sort of morons/retards/lunatics who phoned up? (immediately it went on line).
All of a very similar demographic type.
And they really did think this car was going to be £265, even though it did say at the bottom of the advert it was £6,000.
Turned out autotrader had (probably still have) a bug in their software so if you list a price in your car 1st descripton box, it over-writes your vehicle price. EG I had said in the description new brakes fitted last week with bill for £265. So that was now my price.
It was quite funny talking to the people that phoned and asked if the price was correct what they thought the price might be? Is it £265 or £6,000?
Based on it being a 2005 Golf 2.0 with fsh it might have been obvious to most people.
Maybe they were getting mixed up between GBP sterling and Naira?

Sounds like that's not a bug, it's done on purpose to try and catch the kind of thing referred to in the first post?What gets me, is people who advertise their cars in the wrong section.
For example, looking at Mazda 6 MPSs (spending imaginary money, sadly) - and there's adverts for 2.0 diesels and the like, in the "MPS" section.
As if anyones going to go "actually, I fancy half the HP, half the driven wheels... but double the MPG!". See also - people putting their BMWs in the wrong E-numbers.

What really annoys me is on ebay, for example, where people are selling, say, an E36.
(Lets say I have searched for a 325 tds)
The advert title reads 'BMW 320i, 323i, 325i, 328i, NOT 325 tds' [TM note: That's the one I searched in the first place!!]
One then reads on to discover the gem that is 'car is actually a 316i'

I totally agree with the mileage thing here....If I am looking for a specific car with less than 40,000 miles and a load come up with 123K miles it stands to reason that I won't be silly enough to actually buy one of these misrepresented high mileage junkers!

What really annoys me about AT is searching on price and having to plough through loads of traders ads which list new or nearly new a low price which is the weekly payments simply to get their place advertised for new or almost new vehicles which you you are simply not going to be interested in or cannot afford.
