Air compressors

Hi all

I having just this morning had an offer accepted on a house, which after a long time waiting, has a garage!! At last, I can start getting some real mans tools to work on my landy.

So, first on the list is a compressor, I won't be doing low-level stuff like spraying, but would really need one capable of running a impact wrench and/ or impact driver. Anyone any thoughts on the best one to get on a reasonable budget? The garage has power, so electric rather than petrol I think is best. How big a tank does I need to run a gun with light - moderate use, since i'm only a hobby mechanic?

CostCo do a couple of compressors, all significantly cheaper than the equivilant at machine mart, coupled with a fantastic warranty . . . . . . . . . . I took back an almost 3 year old one last year and got a refund to use against a new one (and they didnt even ask for the tools that went with it)

As for size, it's always better to have something over rather than under capacity, so I'd go for the largest capacity one that you have space / budget for

if you dont plan to spray or do other stuff , maybe consider a good spec cordless impact gun

much easier to grab that and no waiting for the compresor to fill or the noise etc
