What I generally don't understand is that passive-aggressive nature of some of these protesters. They're very good at shouting that 'something needs to be done' but how many of them are actively funding and/or conducting research into alternatives?

Actually I think that is a valid point. Freedom of speech an opinion is one thing, but when it causes havoc and potential terror to the masses it is terrorism of a form.
