Great example of insurance companies not using common sense - ultimately costing themselves (and thus us) more money.

mate got hit up the backside in his TT (stop sniggering at the back). Reasonable damage. Other driver admitted fault. Mate calls ladies insurance and suggests they sort him a hire car (anything), and he'll take his car to local Audi dealer. "no, you need to use drive assist". Drive assist piss about for 2 days, dont get him a car, so he has involved Europa Consultants (from here, great bunch of guys), who sorted a Cayman next day. Now the insurance company his footing a great big bill they didnt need to for 3 weeks....

Muppets.

Its not really the insurance company saying no, its them saying we have a contract with drive assist who provide cars for us.
It seems its drive assist that have messed him about if he complains to the insurer about how it was handled they'll be straight onto drive assist because as you said its now cost the insurer lots of money!.
Hope your mate enjoys the cayman! thumbup

I used Europa for the exact same reason (in fact I even borrowed their Cayman as well). I was without a usable car and my insurance company and the other parties insurance company were getting nowhere and doing nothing for me despite there being no dispute over who's fault the accident was. Europa handled things superbly.

It's a shame because it of course adds to the overall cost of the claim (well maybe not if the time frame is reduced but that's another debate) which we all get hit in the pocket for but it's extremely frustrating when even your own insurer who have taken £ hundreds from you do nothing to help.

Yup, fair point. He did I believe complain to both DA and the insurance co, so they had every chance to sort it out.
