new style V5.. dvla had a load stolen?

Hi all

had my new v5c come through for the scoob when i opened it i freaked cos its normally blue.. through something was wrong

but no.. they are changing the v5 (thanks for letting everyone know)

when looking at the .. hover the mag glass over the top corner of the v5 it is them admiting shed loads of v5's have been stolen (prob the reason for the change of style).. surely if that many have been stolen it should have been in the papers of something

It's pretty common knowledge that thousands of V5's went missing last year causing a problem with people selling stolen, 'cloned' cars.

It's also been in the news recently that they were changing the V5 to stop this from happening any further.

I think a PH'er appeared on TV because his Monaro was cloned.

DVLA say that the V5C is not proof of ownership.

So why do they then say that if the seller cannot show the V5C you should not buy the car?

Cannot these idiots make their minds up?

Thousands went 'missing' a good few months ago. The serial numbers of the stolen ones are available on the DVLA website if you want to reference.
