Altering car info on V5

Hi all,
I'm about to buy an old Honda Integra that has has the SOHC 1.6 D-series engine swapped for a DOHC B-series 1.8. The car is actually still recorded as a 1.6 but i'm obviously going to do the right thing and insure it and try to re-register it as a 1.8.
My question is, what do i have to do to achieve this? Is there some kind of inspection i would have to put the car through, or do i just fill in a form and send it off and wait for new paperwork for the car? Am i right in assuming that i don't have to have it SVA'd as the car has been in the country for years (it's a Japanese import) and the engine swap is from the same manufacturer as the original one?
I actually asked about this today at the local VOSA testing station, but the bloke in the office didn't seem to know what the heck he was on about and i got the idea he really had no clue.
Could you knowledgable PHers fill me in please?
