Crazy road sign men

Anyone else seen those nutters that have to run across the motorway to put the signs up in the middle, to let people know they are approaching roadworks at night?

They must be on danger money, surely?

Fook that for a game of soldiers, one trip and its all over.

Yup, my mum was in at the Great Western when it happened. She was in A&E waiting to be seen, but in came the call when she was waiting. Death on the motorway lead to a 2+ hour closure and subsequent handling. Not nice and not sure what happened. Unfortunately with the ongoing roadworks on the M4, that is deffo 2, maybe 3 road workers that I know have been killed.

Bloody dangerous job if you ask me. I am all up for safety for them, but isnt there a better way than dashing across carriageways?

When they're putting the signs out, and removing them, the electronic signs are set for a max of 50mph, so you shouldn't be doing 70mph.
but yes, it's not a job that I'd fancy doing. Have you noticed that they also usually have the actual sign between them and the oncoming traffic)
