What makes a car a "Girl's Car"?

Are you like me and can sum up the gender of the driver of a particular type of car using broad and probably inaccurate sweeping statements?

On a long car journey with a mate we distilled it down to the following rules for determining if a car is a girls car or not.


A car is a girl's car if any one of the following apply:

• It is French
• It is a conversion convertible (i.e. it was not designed as a convertible from scratch like the SL500, Z4 or S2000)
• It is a Fiat
• It is a small hatchback
• It is a sporty version of a girls car then it is still a girls car
• It is a compromised version of a man's car brought out later to appeal to a bigger market (i.e. girls) - e.g. X1, X3, Freelander
• It is a small version of another car in the range - e.g. 1 series coupe, SLK, Audi TT
• It has a design can be described as "Funky" - e.g. Beatle, Smart

Anyone disagree or can think of any exceptions?

A Fiat 500 is just a smaller Ferrari 612 then?

I'm no chassis geek but I'd say you're probably off-beam a little with those three assertions. I'll take correction on the chin though, should I be wrong.

Same here. For some reason almost all the 4x4's driven in Sutton Coldfield are driven by women. The more expensive the SUV the more attractive the driver, the more german the more blonde, the more gargantuan the more petite.

Q7's normally look like they have no driver.
