I FELT LIKE A RIGHT C**T!!

I was so excited about Le' Mans 24hr back in june. Camp site was booked, car was stickered and bags packed. We all said we would drive with in the limit, knowing what the french fuzz were like. The journey down was very pleasent although the weather was extreme at times. We saw lots of fellow brits in all sorts of cars and vehicles, and plenty of old bill! The campsite was ok, would have been better if the weather was good.
Two of us left on the sunday a day earlier than planned. I was in my 328i and my mate was in his his Fiesta st 150. The weather was lovely and we started out taking it nice and easy. Just north of Alencion were overtaken by several british cars including a lambo and a 123d. Well thats where it all began and ended very quickly!! After several nice overtakes and a long straight we drove right into a gendarmerie road block. I knew straight away we were f**ked,they looked seriously pissed off. They took all our papers and informed us we were being held indefinately and being fined 750 euros!! There were pulling loads in, different fines ranging from 90 euros to 1500. To cut along story short we eventually got to calais at 2:30 am the following day, they let us go with our cars and told us not to return! Im just comeing to terms with it now, this is my first p'heads visit since june!! We know we did wrong,just felt like they could have dealt with it in a slightly less intimidating manner, Hands on the guns etc!! Needless to say the wife was pretty pissed off too, i think i will leave Le,Mans alone for a few years. I have definately learned my lesson, that was the only blemish on an otherwise perfect driving record!
The BMW is back on the road next week been in the garage since june, cant wait.

Not scared, its just i couldnt quite believe how stupid we had both been. Took a while to get over the fine so i just tried to forget about the whole Le'Mans thing.

When we returned to the Eurotunnel the French Police were out in force with speed guns in fact there were four lots on the last toll road to the Tunnel in less than 10miles
A Mercedes van behind us got pulled in and for the very shortest of moments I thought it was my turn.
May be because it was a van (and they wanted to see what the load was)as we were both proceeding!
