Value of a Jenson 541R??

Any ideas as to the value of one of these? it's a manual, don't know much more as yet.

It's going to be how long is a piece of string really, as always condition and history are very important, but maybe 10-25k

Depending on state, between £20-£35k.

the 541r's are a brutal car, in the day they where very fast - designed to cruise at 100mph plus.

they shouldnt be confused with the normal 541, which had unflared rear arches (so looked odd), or the later s (which was wider and looked odd as well!)

the 'r' stands for rack and pinion steering (not race, as i was convinced it did when i was young!)

the biggest problem with them now is finding a good one, the chassis rust very bad, and to repair it corectly the body (which is grp) needs to be removed (so very expensive) - there is a guy who can fix the chassis now-a-days, so its not the problem it used to be.

to look right they need to be on wires and single colour

one of my very first memorys of been in a car was sat in the back on my grandads 541r racing back from cadwell park to the ferry at the humber - he was late and i can remember watching the needle on the speedo bouncing around the 100 mark and the trees flashing past the windows thinking 'this is the life!' i would have been about five i guess, and ive wanted to own one ever since!

no ideas on value, my grandad paid about 200 quid for his in 1972!

its currently sat in our garage awaiting the big strip down so the chassis can be done

THat was the range for them when I was looking over the last 2 yrs. I love these things and if I owned one right now, no way would I be selling. An R or an S though...?

Concours ones were definately at £30ish k last time I looked!
