Spoilt Kids...
Discussion
I quite like the deal the tall bloke from Dragons den has with kids, he's set up a trust fund that will pay them the same as they earn, or if they go in to a "worthwhile" job (teaching, medicine, etc) it will pay double. So they'll have to work for a living but will get 2 or 3 times thier jobs salary.
He doesn't actually seem like a typical spoilt tosser, just someone who has far, far more means than he really needs - but what can you tell from a crappy little article. It's definitely not what I'd call a collection, though - just lots of expensive cars owned by one guy.
+1 on the genius of Peter Jones' trust fund, always liked that idea.

Handy if a little pious, I would rather not have my dad (or anybody else) decide what are 'worthwhile' occupations even if he paid me more for doing it.maxxy5 said:

You say, 'Spoilt Kids...'
I say, 'Good for him.'
For sure, still an extremely spoilt kid. Would be fantastic to know you never had to work for the things that very few people can afford after working extremely hard for.I say, 'Good for him.'
The usual problem with spoilt kids is they get everything they want, get accustomed to it and then have to deal with the 'real world'. I doubt this guy is ever going to have to deal that or that a few million is very much to him or his family. Saying that he may appreciate and enjoy them more if he didn't just go buy them all in one hit.

Everyone can afford it it just depends if they want to work for it...
Say your family was worth 10 billion from amazing investemnts and oppotunities and 3.5 million is like chump change, you say to your son 'no... I earned it now you have to do it by yourself'?
Jealousy is not a pretty thing

I don't even know the kid, I certainly can't relate to him, he's a picture in the Metro. Trust me when I tell you that there is no jealousy here.
I also have to comment that your "everyone can afford it..." is utter b
ks.Don't get me wrong, I live a priviliged life, always have as i was growing up, parents have more money than they know what to do with. But just 'because they can' doesn't mean they will or indeed should have to. Simple as that.
