Choosing a new (60) number plate.

As I'm pick my new Panda up in November is it possible to specify the no. plate and more importantly, would I have to pay extra for it?

Unfortunately '60' doesn't seem to lend itself to making a nice looking plate.

You could buy a personalized plate and put that straight on to the new car but Im fairly certain you cant just decide what combo of letter you want for the first plate.

They usually just give you a small list of around 6 or 7 iirc that you have to choose one from, they'll be pretty similar so just pick the one you prefer obviously. HTH.

When I chose the plate for my c2 the sales dude had looked through the list and chosen a few out that he thought I would go for i.e initials etc.

He seemed cagey about letting me see the list so I presume you wouldn't just be able to have a squint through and choose one. You may be able to ask him if certain ones are available though.

I know but it's given me 16k of faultless, enjoyable motoring. Apart from £200 on a set of Michelin's when I first bought it and a LOT of oil it hasn't cost me a penny.

Unfortunately I think the suspension needs a complete refresh and I'm not quite up to spending close to £1k on an 11 year old car.

I'm looking forward to the Panda, hopefully it will provide all the thrills of a buzzy little hatch with the added bonus of 'new car reliabilty'.
