Nope, not a Shed hall of fame, well not quite.

After AlunR's success in winning a rather tasty car, how about we do our own, scaled down Shed competition?

100 people put in a tenner, name drawn at random and someone wins a shed.


Surely we have enough folk to make that work?

Sure we could get one of the mods to have the holding account, paypal in your tenners to it and then once we hit the magic mark a shed is purchased.

You vote for the type of shed you want as you send in your tenner.

Then whoever gets picked as the winner, that type of shed is purchased and you receive your car. You cannot change your mind on the type of shed after you have paid your tenner but you can choose any of the sheds, in that section of the classifieds for under a grand.

Transport of getting said shed etc is down to the winner.

We could probably make it £15 per head and give a bit more range of choice?

Sounds like a good idea in theory. I just think that due to the size of the UK, it could cost an arm and a leg just to collect and bring the car home..unless some sort of restiction was placed on the area the car would be sourced from.

£1000 isn't really a shed, unless you're posh. £200....thats a shed. Shed should stricly be a tool for bangernomics on nothing more. If you lavish money on it it becomes a project, or just a car.

Well the idea is that the winner picks the car from those available in the classifieds, so pick one next door and spend the full £1500 on the car.

Pick one 200 miles away and spend £1300 on the car, £200 on the delivery.

Only rule is that you HAVE to buy a car with it, up to your budget, no going over and adding in more money.

You could spend £750 on the car and £750 on parts for it if you wish.


If we do it all on paypal then the money can sit there. If you do decide to buy parts etc from ebay that can be done too.


Full thread on what has been happening with the car etc will be expected from the winner.

This would be the main problem. I imagine PH/Haymarket would want nothing to do with it, so it'd have to be done 'offline' kind of thing.

As for which shed to go for you could keep this even more interesting than having the choice and go for the SOTW as soon as the £1000 mark is hit. For fairness an announcement would have to be made when the amount was hit with the following Friday's SOTW being the 'prize'.

I'd agree with the charity part and make it a bit more (say £1200) where the remaining money goes to charity.

For the delivery of the car budget a full tank of fuel as part of the prize and the winner has to get to where the car is.

Makes it much more or a gamble for everyone!

Isn't this illegal? Isn't that exactly why the Supercar thing has to have a spot the ball as you require an element of skill to make it a competition. Otherwise it's a raffle. Oh, I don't know.
