Fcking Clampers

I cannot wait for this clamping ban on private land to come into force!

Stupidass clampers were trying to clamp my Porsche because it was parked in a reserved space. Ok fair enough. A ticket would have been better though.

However the car is low and wheels are wide so they couldn't get it on. They've tried all four wheels before someone reported it to me. Caught them trying their best to get it to the front wheel and just asked them to stop.

I was too busy at the time to check for damage to car, but if there is any damage what can I do about it? From the sounds of it, they've struggled quite hard and failed so I expect some damage to have happened.

How would you feel if someone parked their car on your driveway without your permission?

If they've damaged your car then sue them through moneyclaim.gov.uk

Its my workplace. The person who's space it was reserved for wasn't even working (hes on holiday). So I thought I'd sneak in as it was only for a few hours. Sod's law I guess.

if you support your claim with some official letter from work saying that you were authorised to park there and that the clampers should have known / checked this before taking any action, it would be helpful

It was my own workplace security who tried to clamp it. I paid the release fee even though they couldn't get it on anyway. I'm just wound up because they kept trying to get it on apparently and could have damaged the car. Some of my colleagues said they were struggling. Going to check it now for damage.

If the car is blocking a space how does clamping it so that it blocks the space for even longer solve the problem?

Further bad news for you: they won't be affected by the clamping ban.

They were trying to get it on but couldn't. I could hardly drive away with someone under my car trying to figure it out. Paid them the fee to stop them from doing any damage.

Its a private car park so I think the ban will affect them surely?

The clamping company is the company itself. Public sector - have our own on-site security.

I am not that senior but neverthless they would have voided my parking permit. Only the absolute head can get away with stuff.

Anyway I checked my car and thankfully its not got any damage so I should count myself lucky. I just hate people touching my car, really boils my p*ss to the point that I would get violent.

There's a shop around the corner for my nan's, and a short private road to the side of it. Apart from 3 spaces, the rest of it is operated by ninja clampers. Not had it happen to me, but speaking to the shopkeeper it's not uncommon for someone to go in for a packet of fags, and leave only to find the clampers have been and gone.

Worst case I've heard about was an old lady who got a flat tyre, pulled into the road. Got clamped whilst waiting for RAC
