What are peoples thoughts on the Aptera?

Just watching Jay Lenos garage came across the aptera which looks to be a really nice piece of kit.
Seems to be issues however and was wondering if anyone had any clue about when it will be available and how much amongst other things.

Does anyone else think its a much better option than the the nissan leaf and the rest of them which are all very bland.
Does anyone know much about the history of Aptera cars?
