Would you pay for the right to speed

First, vehicles would have to pass a safety inspection. Then vehicle information would be loaded into a database, and motorists would purchase a transponder.

After setting up an account, anyone in a hurry could dial in, and for $25 charged to a credit card, be free to speed for 24 hours.

surely it would be more important for the driver to pass a safety inspection, and even then there would have to be certain limits - couldn't be unlimited speeding!

stupid idea - anyone with a bit of cash and no driving skills could be going twice the speed of the other road users.

ETA - but if it WAS implimented - I would certainly pay for the opportunity!!

Remember though, in the US they have very very long, very straight roads, and a speed limit of 55mph!!!

Many states have a 75mph limit these days. Montana has no limits on certain roads.
