Stainless V8 Manifold fabrication,

I am currently looking to get a pair of new stainless manifolds made for my V8 Manta.
The car is a 1986 Opel manta Coupe, Its in my profile if you want a pic. I have steel tube manifolds on it right now that do not flow well and are a poor design. they warp and leak quite easily and seem to get red hot spots due to restrictions.
The car (and me) is in the darkest depths of Cornwall, I have no doubt we will need to travel to get a set made up and expect to leave the car with the fabricators for a few days while they bend and shape and stuff.
I have emailed a few places already from my initial Google searches, ChrisTullett, JPexhausts and Hayward&scott have all either given me a price or are about to. No illusions as to price, its going to cost a bit but the car is worth it to me.
Can anyone recommend me a fabricator/company to do the job ? It MUST be a good job, good flow, and above all excellent polished flat welds.
Any guidance as to who to steer clear of would help too !

Quite a hike for yourself mate, but look up www.aas-exhausts.co.uk near Newcastle. They have done lots of headers for Monaros, Corvettes and other V8 machinery and I can personally vouch for the quality of their work.
Only took a day for fitting, and they can build to any spec.

Keeping it GM my guess would be a Rover V8 of some incarnation.
Rimmer Brothers do a range of Stainless Steel manifolds for SD1, Range and Land Rovers. If you want a custom made one try Andy at Zorstec or Mark at Wisbech Engineering.

BTB Exhausts near Daventry are very talented. I've used them in the past and their work is excellent. Custom fabrication, prototype systems for large OEMs and low volume production runs are all in their repetoire (most notably of late as the supplier of the exhaust system on the V8 Caterham Levante). Stainless, Titanium, and inconel as well, I think.
Simpson Race exhausts are also on par and are definitely also worth a shout for quotation.

I emailed BTB and within minutes I had a phone call back, The guy on the end of the phone knew his stuff, asked all the right questions and to be honest is the most likely candidate for doing the work.Edited by Arun_D on Tuesday 7th September 16:24
The price quoted/estimated is right above everyone elses but it is the worst case scenario price, so it might come it at or even lower than some of the others.
Its quite a fair distance away from me, its a lot of money but I have confidence they will do the best job.

Decision made, surely? I'm sure the £100 or whatever you save wil feel really good when you're driving along in a car that you KNOW is nearly as good as it could be. Decisions descisions.
