Measuring antifreeze mixture.

What I want to know is, what is the technical term for the mixture?

I seem to recall when you measure the density of the mix, a term is used?

Just how specific are you lot when it comes to getting the mixture right, eg when topping up?

Having owned two cars that suffered from incorrect mixture (too weak) I'm quite paranoid about it.

I always do 50/50. Seems about right unless you want to change it every 6 months. Too weak and you will freeze the system and get corrosion, too strong and it won't do the job of cooling the engine.

I always use battery water rather than tap water as it is very hard here in the south east.
