On my way to work this morning I ended up behind a brand new 407 SW doing 30 - 35mph on a 60mph nsl road. I followed the vehicle for a few miles and we entered a 40mph village zone. The 407 sped up to 40mph as we went through the village then when we were back on to the nsl road it slowed down to 30mph again.

I followed it through a few twisty bits then the road straightened out. I checked nothing was coming and pulled out to overtake. As I did the 407 accelerated quite hard. I accelerated too (as fast as my diesel dog would let me) and finished the overtake in good time.

As I pulled back infront of matey boy in the 407 he began flashing his full beam at me and gesturing with his hands quite angrily. I ignored him and carried on with my journey.

I don't know what was going through this chaps head, and I don't know why he tried to stop me overtaking him. Very odd behaviour.

Well, that's my nutcase story for the morning. Anyone have anything better? smile

A guy drove through a red light on to a traffic light controlled roundabout, and apparently i'm a wker for beeping my horn at him as he blocked my progress on an otherwise empty roundabout.

He was one of those 'comedy' angry guys. Shouting out the window and hands flying everywhere!

ETA: Sometimes I feel people go out in the car to purposely try and pick a fight. Why else would your guy deliberately drive at a speed to encourage people to overtake, then floor it as soon as someone has a go.

I was sitting waiting for someone to reverse out of a parking space at the local gastropub-thingy on Sunday when a bloke in an Astravan nipped in and stole the space. I beeped the horn and got the evils off the bloke who then proceeded to get out of his van and come over to my car to remonstrate.

After initially being asked "what's your problem?" and then getting the "so what do you want me to do about it?", it then degenerated into farce when he proclaimed "do you want to make something of it?" and "you were aggressive for beeping your horn".

Ok then, bonehead, i was aggressive for beeping my horn but you weren't for getting out of your car, and asking me if i wanted to make something of it? With my 5 year old daughter and 9 1/2 months pregnant wife in the car beside me?

In the end, i just told him he wasn't worth wasting my day over and drove off. I was more annoyed that i was angry with myself for wanting to do the wrong thing (squaring up to the wannabe bully) than being happy i did the right thing (driving away from the eejit).

Oh, and i got my Sunday dinner anyway and it was bloody lovely!

People who do st like this and think they're "hard" are fking idiots - one day they'll try that on with some raving nutter/SAS man or something and get seven shades of st knocked out of them. They'd deserve it, mind biggrin

Trust me, the way she's feeling at the minute, she's happy to encourage the nipper out by any means necessary!

My uncle's mate is ex-marine and some bloke started taking the piss out of him in a kebab shop one evening. He picked him up and threw him through the shop window biggrin

He is a nutter though. A while ago the police found him wading covertly through the river that runs through town at abou 2am. When they asked what he was doing he replied "shhh, i'm looking for bombs" lol.

Happens all the time where i live. One can barely make one's way from one charity shop to another on the high street without navigating a kind of human hailstorm, comprised of broken glass and foolish mickey-takers.

The air was so thick with airborne michael-extractors last week one could hardly see one's hand in front of one's own face.

I was coming out a car park the other day and couldn't see much due to a large 4x4 so I creep slowly forwards, a good distance away I see a micra and the driver isn't looking at the road but down into his lap, so I pull out and go, he finally looks up and sees me and slams his breaks on so he is almost touching my bumper

Leave the car park and come to a round about and he pulls up next to me starts mouthing of that I should have been looking, I politely told him I was and that he was the one not paying attention. The he starts swearing and threatening me saying he's going to smash my face in. I drive off, go home and cry afraid he will find me.

Reminds me of the time, during the Clone Wars, I had left the Jedi & gone over to the darkside, anyhoo, long story short, I was having a lightsabre fight with my son & he was being a prick & refusing to leave the rebels & join me - so I cut his hand off, he won't do that again I tell thee. True story.

The reason for that is his lack of hazard perception. Something in his mind on the A road said "bends = scary", whereas in an urban area the roads tend to be straighter, but going slowly requires imagination and intelligence (e.g. "what if that child stepped out, what if that car pulled out". Basically he's reacting to the obvious hazards on the A road, but lacks the intelligence to react to potential hazards in an urban area.

I call shenanigans on both these stories. Particularly the first one.

Actually, I have seen a dramatic reconstruction of the second story so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on it.
