Anyone own one on here who could tell me what there real life mpg is?

Im after a cheap and reliable car to run with lots of warranty left to be a shopping trolley. Spending max of £8k. Can a Ceed be beaten?

I have driven one and to be honest it was much better than I was expecting.

Do any of them come with cruise control? Can't see any on AT.

How much is dealer servicing, good dealer network?

Sorry for the most un-piston heads topic of the day.

However owning something like this will mean the Eunos will spend more time doing what its supposed to do. A - B road thrashing. biggrin. driving Such a waste on straight boring roads.

Honestly, MPG for a C'eed diesel? I'm sure it'll be quite accurate, but I'd try a more "mainstream" car site like honestjohn, they are better at white goods motors. wink

Saw an indicated 62.9mpg after following a slow truck for what like seemed forever, but a real life figure of 54.7 after a spirited week around the highlands. Pretty impressed.

Not at all bad to drive, and we showed it some real roads.

Also consider an i30 - same car, but a bit more comfortable. The Kia is much choppier than the i30 where suspension is concerned. The i30 has better engines, too. The cam chain driven 1.6CRDI is a brilliant little engine compared to the old 2 litre boat anchor in the Kia.

Definitely!

Drove a Golf, Auris, Focus, Leon and the ceed in the space of 4 hours. Very impressed with the drive compared to the Auris and Leon.

My brother worked for Kia for the past year and a bit. He had a Ceed as his company hack. Top spec turbo diesel auto with all the trimmings. Cruise, dual control climate control, iPod connector the lot.

Was actually very nice and comfy.

I think it tended to average 36-45+mpg, but this was short journeys and flat out mostly I think. The auto box probably knocked the figure back a bit compared to a manual too.

In short, I'd suspect very on par with most other cars of similar spec.

If you drove more gentle I'm sure it'd have been even better on fuel.

The OH's petrol 1.4 i30 (108PS) has averaged 42.3mpg over it's first 1750 miles, that's mostly town driving and a little motorway. Much cheaper than a diesel. Worth considering?

I would do but its going to probably cover around 9000 motorway business miles a year plus another 2-4k private motorway miles.

It will be a well used shopping trolley wink.

Im opting out of the company car scheme and trying to make as much from the cash allowance to spend on other things.

The eco scheme would have cost me money to run a bloody mondeo FFS only pay 10p mile.

If you fancy something a little more funky have you looked at the Kia Soul? It only has the 1.6CRD motor, but still moves and handles pretty well. Just a bit more interesting to look at.

I would second that they are one of a few cars I would buy just for their difference to other stuff.

Not for boring motorway miles i don't! Kia ceed warranty anything goes wrong not my problem. BMW bill will be? Tax is 150ish for the BMW 20 quid Ceed. Spending all that money for a badge and rwd not worth it for me. The money saved helps pay for the SC for the eunos. Now THATS fun. smile

Hi I owned a new ceed sport diesel did 14,000 miles in about six months,50mpg without trying all the toys, cruise, aircon etc,had two breakdowns (not me the car) both due to key fob immobiliser packing up (returned home via the AA twice car would not start unless I used the spare key) .Keys replaced under warrenty, full dog leather inside, overall the car did exactly what it was purchased for (apart from the breakdowns) .

I assume this thing is Diesel? Rather makes a mockery of your user name don't you think?

Yeah but I think they were looking for new with a 7 year warranty. A 5 year old BMW isn't quite the same thing.
