Laugh, my sides are now gaffer taped!
In fairness they've tidied up the bodywork a bit and it's very shiny looking...but I wonder if they've sorted the issues it has. Ahem.

What did he give you p/x for it?
I remember my old Golf GTi I chopped in. Riddled with faults and problems, and promptly on the forecourt within 24 hours for nearly twice what he gave me for it, and he gave me good money for it. The advert had it as a minter. Anyone who came to see and drive the car would have been bitterly disappointed!

About 12 years ago a friend sold his astra gsi which has 200k on the clock.
The next week we was at the auctions in chelmsford along comes a very simular astra gsi and shockingly it only had 120k on the clock the scary thing is was his old one !
To top this off about a month later it goes through again with only 80k on it.

I'm even more of an anorak...The facelift came about for the 1994 model year, so it started to appear from late 'L' onwards...
Has the silver car advertised got the correct wheels fitted? I thought that all the V8 models, from introduction in 1992 had 16" 5 spoke wheels.
A well sorted 540i in auto or manual form is still a fantastic car, 286bhp and 400nm of torque, plus that fantastic noise the M60 V8 makes it one hell of a bruiser.
It came with E60 wheels so I put some cross spokes on - not originals. Tyres have a good 6mm left I iirc.

Don't get me wrong it goes like stink and is a fabulous motorway cruiser.
Did I declare any issues? They had their guys crawl over it and road test it before offering me five whole salted peanuts. With a discount off the Jag the cost to change vehicles was what mattered.
To a new owner paying sensible money for it the problems can be dealt with at reasonable cost - but at the full price it's a wallet whacker.
I bought it for £1700 in 2008 with the intention of making it utterly perfect, but time, health and lack of workshop space prevent. It also had more tin worm than I realised!
The Jag I bought from them has had a few surprises too, but I call this karma. Nothing warranty based but a few fix its I've done myself and some interesting finds on the paintwork side of things. Being detailed tomorrow so we'll get the full picture.
