Insurance For Merc 190 Cosworth Track Car

Friend of mine has been building a Merc 190 2.5 Cosworth track car for the last couple of years, has done a fair bit of work to it & has a full cage welded in etc but now cant find anyone to insure it!
He's tried all of the usual suspects such as Adrian Flux etc - they all say they insure track cars, accept modifications but as soon as he mentions he has no rear seats & a roll cage they dont want to know - what do they class as a track car??
Tried Reiss, waiting to hear back on a quote from them but is there anyone else? He's thinking about selling it now just because he's finding it a job to insure which will be a shame - it sits in his garage most of the year apart from the odd track day or trip to the ring once a year

If he has to have back seats could he not just glue a garden chair in? Will certainly get round that problem.
Probably have to take it out come MOT time!
Back seats are not a requirement for an MOT.Probably have to take it out come MOT time!
I removed the rear seats from my old Charade Turbo and it went through 4 MOTs without an issue.
